Step One: Examine your item(s)
While you look over each piece, note the type of item that it is and the restoration work you would like performed. Our basic services include some repairs, but more extensive damage may require Special Services. Make a note of everything you would like to have repaired as you will include this with your order.
Please note the following special conditions outlined below that may apply to your item.
Beware of pitted and corroded pieces - We may not be able to remove these blemishes entirely but we will do the best job possible. We can always make items look beautiful but we can't always make them look like new. Occasionally we encounter a problem during the cleaning or plating process which prevents us from completing the work. Under these circumstances, we reserve the right to return your piece unfinished (at no charge).
Frosty Finish - If the base metal has a distinct "frosty" finish, we will do our best to preserve it. But if the "frosty" finish is faded, it will be removed during the plating process and a regular bright finish will be furnished.
Engraving - Ordinary engraving will show up just as well after plating. However, we cannot remove deep scratches, gouges or pits near the engraved or hand-tooled areas of the piece without removing the engraving, too.
Soldered Joints - If parts are to be soldered, the soldered area will show unless the piece is completely replated (except sterling). We recommend this to ensure the best job possible.
Glass, China, Enameled or Jeweled Pieces - are accepted only at your own risk. Lacquer coatings are not covered by our warranty.
